He Has This Thing for Pigs

I have this thing for columns. My dad has this thing for pigs. Sometimes we have weird taste. But it was pretty much the best Father's Day gift he has ever received. Can't you just tell from his face?

P.S. My mom has banished this to our cabin...thankfully.

Babies = Happiness

I (finally) got to meet my newest cousin. Isn't she beautiful?

(Couldn't resist one of my sister Rachel because she's not so bad looking either)

In fact, this baby's whole family is beautiful. See?

We loved running into our cousins up the canyon!

Look Who I Spent the Week With...

3 reasons this kid made my week:

He laughed at my lame jokes.

He was the best kind of alarm clock (6am is so fun when you have him giggling and smiling at you).

He loved my singing, even if it isn't that great.

Thanks Kelsie for the wonderful visit!

Boston Cream

What better way to kick off my blog than with a pictoral (yes I made up that word) recap of my Easter weekend trip to Boston since taking pictures there gave me the push I needed to sign up for a blog. Plus the fact that Christy actually created it for me.

I fell in love with Boston at very first sight. My darling friend Christy and her husband Chris were my hosts for the weekend. I asked them to show me all of their favorite things in one day. Too much to ask? Well, they were the right people for the job. All I can say is that Kate Middleton may be getting the royal treatment tomorrow, but I got the royal treatment all weekend.

Here we go. The following are pictures of:

- Paul Revere's House - "Listen my children and you shall hear..."
- Plymouth Rock - wow.
- The Mayflower - technically The Mayflower II, but still awesome
- Boston Temple - with beautiful flowers in bloom for Easter
- Louisa May Alcott's House in Concord - Who knew this existed? This was the most pleasant surprise for me. And I may or may not have gotten teary as "Marmy" was telling us that Beth used to play this very piano before she got scarlet fever and died. My 3 sisters and I are basically Little Women, you know. Except I am Jo, even though I'm the oldest. Meg is boring.
- Old North Bridge in Concord - "the shot heard round the world"
- Easter Morning at Boston Common

Not pictured, but still important: Old North Church (of "one if by land, two if by sea" fame) and eating a Boston cream donut in Boston.

Thanks for a wonderful visit, Chris and Christy!!

Against All Odds, a Blog is Born

Before starting I should just go ahead and mention the elephant in the room.

Yes, I always said I would not start a blog until I got married and had a family to blog about.
Yes, I know that hasn't happened yet.
Yes, I am eating my words and starting a blog.

Because I have a wonderful life and want a way to share with friends and family the things I find beautiful, and the things I love and enjoy.

Cheers!
